Institute of Cognition

Terms of Use

These terms govern use of the Institute of Cognition website and assessment, operated by HypeProof (Inhaber: Noah Fabian), Am Alten Sägwerk 3, 86899 Landsberg am Lech, Germany.

1. The service

Institute of Cognition offers an online cognitive-reasoning assessment consisting of 26 questions across four domains: pattern recognition, numerical reasoning, logical reasoning and spatial reasoning. Taking the assessment and viewing a preview of your result is free. Unlocking the Full Cognitive Report — a detailed breakdown of your estimated IQ, percentile, domain scores, pace, and difficulty performance — is a paid, one-time digital purchase.

2. Price and payment

The Full Cognitive Report costs €2.99, charged as a single one-time payment with no subscription or recurring billing. Payment is processed by Stripe through a Stripe-hosted checkout page; we never handle your card details directly. The price shown at checkout is the price charged, inclusive of any taxes Stripe is required to collect.

3. Digital delivery and withdrawal

The Full Cognitive Report is digital content not supplied on a physical medium. Access is unlocked immediately after successful payment. Before paying, you are asked to expressly confirm that you want immediate delivery and to acknowledge that doing so ends your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal once delivery begins, in line with German and EU consumer law. Full detail is set out on our withdrawal information page.

4. Accessing your report later

After purchase, your report stays accessible on the same device via a secure browser cookie for up to 12 months. If you switch devices, clear your browser, or lose access, you can request a one-time restore link by email at /restore-access. Restoring access to a report you already purchased is not a new purchase and is not charged again.

5. What the assessment is — and isn't

The assessment produces a provisional, estimated cognitive-performance score based on your responses. It is not a clinical, medical, educational, or psychological diagnosis, not an official or certified IQ test, and not administered or reviewed by a licensed psychologist. See our methodology page for how scoring works. Do not use this assessment as the basis for medical, educational, employment, or legal decisions.

6. Technical requirements

The assessment runs in a modern web browser with JavaScript enabled and a stable internet connection. We are not responsible for interruptions caused by your device, browser, or network.

7. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of any information you provide, including an email address you choose to share. You agree not to attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the assessment infrastructure, including attempting to extract or bypass the answer key or the payment/access controls.

8. Statutory consumer rights

Nothing in these terms limits any statutory right you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under German or EU law, including statutory warranty rights regarding digital content under §§ 327 ff. BGB. Our liability for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body, or health is unlimited as required by law; for ordinary negligence, our liability is limited to foreseeable, typical damage arising from breach of a material contractual obligation.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of the country in which you, as a consumer, have your habitual residence.
